Top Ten Free Applications that I liked the most

Certain applications catches our heart and we tend to use them whatever be the competition & how much ever features we get from other applications. Following is Ten applications in different categories that I use & all computer that I use will have these applications for sure.

10. PDFill PDF Editor (Category: PDF Editing)

When I wanted to save my web receipts in local disks I found this tool. During initial days, I used ‘Save Webpage As’ which provided option to save as HTML, but that output didn’t get render properly in different web browsers and also the linked images were not showing up when I tried offline printout. I badly in need of PDF file kind of storage. First I tried pdf995. Though it worked well, I got nagging messages all the time. So I switched to PDFill PDF. It gave me full power to whatever I want to do with a PDF file – a) convert any page to image b) enable printing option in print protected PDF files c) PDF printer driver enabled printing any document to PDF format. Especially, the output PDF file allows copy paste of its content again back which produces the same font effect. This is not the case in other PDF print driver softwares – they usually produce series of illegible box characters when we copy paste from their output PDF files. Now in 9.0 version, they provide state of art PDF Editor free. Download & try yourself in below website.

9. XMind (Category: Mind Mapping)

Few years back, I got introduction to Mind Mapping techniques through books. I got interested in the subject and started exploring different Mind Mapping software tools existing in the market. One Mind Map tool that give enough features for Free usage is XMind. Some industry leading softwares provide just 7 days trial and they attach watermark or unwanted extra information  while printing. I found XMind is easy to use, enables integration with many other industry standard formats, excellent feature on export to images. No need to go anywhere for your Mind Mapping needs – go for XMind.

8. Serviio (Category:Media Server)

Next application falls in the Media server category. You think of any feature that a media server can perform – it is there in Serviio. Streaming your media files to other devices connected to the home network, seamlessly integrates and plays any type of media file, online streams, and more than that it is Free. I compared it with other products from Nero and TVersity & I liked serviio over others because of simplicity, versatility, small application size and readiness for improvements.
